Marthe Van Dessel | Bolwerk | ooooo

ooooo (pronoun: we) is a transuniversal constellation that initiates, mediates and facilitates, curates and appropriates projects, abducing thought, reflection and praxis on relevant societal issues. Their 'open' network is the base for [intra-actions] and for inspiring participatory processes, mutual learning and collective emancipation, hosted by Marthe Van Dessel, who is a technoactivist, pedagogue and performer.

She graduated Political & Social Sciences and Graphic Design and was a researcher at the Jan Van Eyck Academy (NL) [https://janvaneyck.nl/] and an UNIDEE resident (IT) [https://www.cittadellarte.it/unidee/]. Together with the Futurefarmers [https://futurefarmers.com/], they initiated various public art programs, explored urban territory and facilitated hybrids of art, science and ecology.

Marthe's praxis emerged during the transition of the analogue world to the digital highway– which arguments her critical technopolitical stance. She/he* advocates for the use of free and open software, the commons, co-authorship and redistribution into the public domain.

She/he* mainly creates interfaces, writes protocols and conceives devices for audio-virtual performances an collaborative d performative events. By initiating 'bodies' in non-hegemonic relations to hard-, soft- & wetware… she explores strategies of (digital) re-affection. In the previous years she became an active system administrator within diverse feminist server [infrastracuture] projects: Systerserver [https://systerserver.net/], SERVPUB [https://servpub.net/], Anarchaserver [https://www.anarchaserver.org/] and Tribidou. Her passion is radio, in its technicalities as a radio-amateur but also as presentator of Webgang, on the local independant Radio Centraal [https://www.radiocentraal.be/] and as part of the Radio Rageuses network [https://radiorageuses.net/] . In her forever quest for non-normative learning environments and feminist pedagogies, she frequents and supports diverse (queer) hackerspaces, (bio)electronic labs, workshops, communities and gatherings with her energy.
